Update #1, 3rd of July 2026

What do you write about when you don't really have something to write about? Should be working from home now, but it's Friday afternoon and I can't motivate myself to do anything. Still have a ton of emails to catch up on, but hey that can wait for Monday right? Done watching YouTube, content only seems to get worse and only 2-3 of the channels I follow still produce worthwhile content. Seems like every channel, regardless of the subject seems to become an Amazon affiliate link promotion. Guess I'll log off soon and go pet the dog. Might go for some ice cream later, it's summer after all. Enjoy your weekend!

Update #2, 9th of July 2026

In a couple of hours I will be done working before my vacation starts, cant wait! The weather looks promising for the coming days and weeks. Still got some packing to do before we're off to Austria, looking forward to see the mountains and green pastures in Carinthia again. We were there a couple of years ago and had a great time! After the trip I also have a week at home, will be doing some DIY and perhaps finally start working on a home server. I wouldn't mind getting less dependable on big tech for storage and streaming. Would like to start off on a low budget, perhaps I'll dig around in the attic to see if there's anything usefull. I do have to read up on the available OS, so far I 've seen articles about Proxmox, Amahi and Ubuntu Server. I do have some experience with Ubuntu so I may go with that for starters.
